Ben Yosua-Davis

Hi, I’m Ben Yosua-Davis, the other half of Melissa’s photo. I’m a third year Masters of Divinity student at Drew Theological School, a card-carrying United Methodist, and a double pastor’s kid (what my brother calls a PKsquared), with two United Methodist ministers for parents. Currently, I’m a music minister and assistant pastor (actually, they call me a “pastoral assistant so as not to annoy the bureaucrats of my denomination) at Monroe Community Church and Trinity United Methodist Church in New Jersey.

I’m moderately obsessed with all things postmodern and Jesus-y, read leadership books for fun, and will gladly talk you ear off if you ask me a question with the word “United Methodist”, “postmodern”, “millennial”, or “Drew” in it. I believe in messy worship, organic, fluid churches, and that Jesus is still waiting for Christians to leave their middle class suburban churches and find him with the poor and marginalized.

When I’m not busy with churchy matters, I read, sleep, fanatically follow the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics, and watch Heroes, the Office, Battlestar Galactica, and whatever football is on TV. Oh yes, and I listen to Green Day, Mute Math, Sara Groves, Jars of Clay, and Pavarotti.
